College of Basic Education for Girls Organizes a Virtual Lecture Titled "Principles of Translation"

The College of Basic Education for Girls, in collaboration with "Intellectual and Scientific Society of Al-Ameed”, (AlKafeel centre for translation” and “ Continuing Education Center at Al-Ameed University”, conducted a virtual lecture titled "Principles of Translation" on the evening of Wednesday, March 4, 2026, via the Google Meet platform.

The session featured distinguished academic contributions from:

• Prof. Dr. Haider Ghazi Jassim, Director of Al-Kafeel Center for Translation and Professor of English Literature at the University of Babylon.

• Prof. Dr. Hussein Ali Al-Sharoufi, Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), State of Kuwait.

• Prof. Dr. Riyadh Tariq Kadhim, Al-Ameed University – College of Basic Education for Girls.

The lecture addressed the most prominent theoretical and practical frameworks in translation studies. It shed light on the fundamentals of semantic transfer between languages and emphasized the critical importance of considering cultural and linguistic contexts within the translation process. Furthermore, the participants discussed common challenges faced by translators and proposed effective methodologies for addressing them.
